Derelict
The world we knew is gone. In the early 2000’s an event known as The Collapse dissolved civilization as we know it. For nearly a century Earth lived in pure chaos, until The Company crossed the churning, unpredictable seas. Civilization was reestablished and through their guidance, humanity reclaimed their place in the starfield.
Jason Graves is a fantastic doctor. The best there is. So good that his discovery of an illness known as Delirium caused by The Company’s Cryo-tech effectively eliminated his own job. So, with the help of his wife, Graves purchases his own ship.
But that was years ago. Now Jason finds himself in her employment, struggling to keep and maintain his stake in their operations. A messy divorce complicates his feelings for both her and the crewmate she was sleeping with behind his back. With his finances, career and life at stake, he and Lara accept a job from The Company. Retrieval of a pre-collapse vessel capable of faster-than-light travel.
But when they go to collect, they quickly learn how little they understand and that they were never alone in the vast void.
