Sounds from the Oververse

Music by Ania Drew

In 2004 I was in a noise band called Face Fucking. We mostly played covers of System of a Down with a few originals that no one really seemed to care about. We played at house parties for adult men who were keen to hit on underage girls. The Hardcore scene is filled with folks like that. Before the year ended, we lost 2 members and eventually the band of 5 broken kids dissolved.

From there I attempted to try several avenues into music. First starting with a solo career that led to one dead end after the other. Costs of living forced me to toss the dream aside as I hunkered down to pay debts and dues. I unfortunately have nothing to show for that era as most of my equipment was sold for drug money or stolen by “friends”.

I took what little free-time I had and started to invest in the learning of Music Production which led me to my most successful project A TwoToned Girl (F.K.A TwoToned). This project was a downbeat, hyper pop music project focused on sample flipping and sound design.

Through this I was able to collaborate with both small and larger names in the indie/DIY space, started to make real money for the first time on my music AND broke over 25k streams for one song. However, all things have an ending.

I then drummed for a local band here in Southern Oregon called Cat Lounge, but I couldn’t commit to it and had to remove myself.

Since the passing of my mother my music has become far more personal and private but I do plan on sharing some music I’ve been working on.

My next musical project. Stories from my life retold in a grungy, stripped down setting.

I have nothing to show for it yet but if you’re in the Southern Oregon area you may catch a few out on the open mics.
